Second Annual Siletz River Cruise & Car Show is August 25-26, 2023

Event raising funds for new playground

Siletz, Ore. – The Siletz River Cruisers car club invites the community to the Siletz River Cruise & Car Show this weekend, August 25 – 26. The car show is Friday from 4pm – 8pm on Bensell Street and the rive cruise begins at 8:00am on Saturday.

Registration is $20 per vehicle and begins at 4pm on Friday. There will be prizes, food vendors, raffles and a live auction. Jett Harris & The Hot Rod Hellcats will play live music from 5pm – 7pm. 

Awards for best in show, people’s choice, oldest, most unusual build and special trophies for car club favorites will be given for each of the following categories

• classic / hot rod truck
• classic / hot rod car
• rat rod
• custom bike
• bagger bike. 

The Siletz River Cruise begins Saturday morning at 8:00am at City Hall. The route will head north along the Siletz River on Highway 229 to the Surf City car show at Chinook Winds Casino. Registration for Surf City show is $20.

The event is raising money for a new playground in Siletz. Already $5,000 of the $40,000 goal has been raised. The city is developing the field behind city hall into a youth activities complex with the playground as the next addition. The property currently has a youth baseball field, skate park, and basketball court.  A t-ball field is under construction now and a gravel parking area was installed this year.  Future plans include a splash-pad for children.
